Jammu
and Kashmir, a region occupied by India and Pakistan, has been the
subject of a long-standing territorial dispute between the two
nations. In recent years, tensions have escalated as both countries
have engaged in a process of dividing the region permanently. India
has abolished the statehood of the region under its control and
converted it into a Union Territory, while Pakistan has forcibly
divided Jammu and Kashmir into two parts, abolished State Subjects
Rules from Gilgit Baltistan, and occupied the lands and resources,
changing the demography of the region.
The Incident and its Aftermath
Recently, the leader of
the Students Liberation Front (JKSLF) was speaking at a peaceful
event of the Jammu and Kashmir National Students Federation (JKNSF)
in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, when terrorists and anti-social
elements attacked him. However, the students of the National Students
Federation did not allow the armed terrorists to succeed in their
nefarious attack, and the armed terrorists fled. The workers of JKSLF
and JKNSF staged a sit-in, demanding that the administration arrest
the terrorists. The administration postponed the sit-in by keeping
civil society dignitaries and whistlers in the middle on the promise
that the terrorists would be arrested within 48 hours. The sit-in
organizers postponed the sit-in for 48 hours and announced that if
the arrest was not made within 48 hours, there would be state-wide
protests.
The Political Motives Behind the Attack
There is a
complex political situation in Pakistan administered Jammu and
Kashmir, with various political parties, militant groups, and
security agencies involved. Any pro-independence political party that
emerges is defamed by imposing fatwas of disbelief and atheism, with
the aim of preventing the state from becoming a national movement for
restoration and independence. Oaths are taken so that freedom
fighters cannot contest elections in the assembly. Attempts are being
made to merge these regions with Pakistan, and organizations that are
standing against this nefarious conspiracy are being blocked. The
security agencies are being intimidated by carrying out murderous
attacks on the freedom fighters through the facilitators of the pet
state and conspiring to suppress the voice of freedom by creating
propaganda. Attempts are being made to pit the militants against the
freedom fighters by luring them and reciting the inverted strip so
that the people can fight among themselves and fulfill their ulterior
motives.
Conclusion
The state Jammu and Kashmir is a
multi-religious state, and its independence and unity can only be
restored through a secular political movement and popular resistance.
Pakistan's security agencies are trying to stop this popular
political resistance through state facilitators by making this
resistance movement a religious movement. The people of Jammu and
Kashmir must come out of the propaganda of the occupiers and join the
people's resistance. The police should arrest the terrorists who
carried out the attack and register cases, and it's their
responsibility.
